In September 2000, I had the opportunity to attend the first Latin Grammy Awards. I also had a chance to interview top LP players including Richie Garcia, Ron Powell, Michael Spiro and Jesus Diaz both in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

While in San Francisco I attended the 43rd Annual Monterey Jazz Festival. Later, I met for dinner with several area musicians, including the great, Armando Peraza.
