Chino Bolaños brought his band, Kambalache Negro Negro, to the
LP® studio on April 16, 2004. During this time,
a performance of Afro-Peruvian music was recorded for congahead.com.
After a 40+ year involvement with percussion, this was my first exposure to this incredible music.
Congas,
bongos,
batas
and a drumset were all used, along with the traditional
cajon.
In addition to the LP® studio images, I have captured two live performances of this great band,
one in the Zaña Club in Paterson, NJ, and a second at Satalla in New York City.
