Paquito
D'Rivera
was commissioned by the National Symphony in Washington,
DC to create a flute concerto to be performed
by virtuoso flutist, Marina Piccinini that would
be influenced by the danzon of Paquito's
native Cuba.
To
introduce Marina to this music, he invited flutists,
Jose Fajardo, Johnny Pacheco and Eddie
Zervigon in addition to a host of other New
York area musical artists including Sonny Bravo
and Alfredito Valdez to share in this historical
musical evening.
Watch
a movie, see a photo
gallery and hear the songs of the evening.
