Little Johnny Rivero played a packed house
at the Opus Lounge, in New York City, on
September 8th. The occasion for this performance
was to celebrate his birthday. Little Johnny
was surprised with a cake from his girlfriend,
Melinda, and many special guests who traveled
from as far away as France, Israel, and
Cambodia. As Yolanda Rivera put it, they
were all there to hear one great "masecote."
Little Johnny played congas,
while Pablo Vergara and Maximo Rodriguez
joined him on keyboard, and bass respectively.
Accompanying the trio throughout the evening
were such musical legends as John Benitez,
Andy Guzman, Edgardo Morales, Yolanda Rivera,
Tony Escapa, Alfredo de la Fé (electric
violin), Gadwin Vargas, Rainaldo De Jesus,
and Manu Bizeu. Everyone in attendance had
a wonderful time watching and listening
to these tremendous performers.
