I had the opportunity to attend a performance that Eddie Palmieri gave at the Blue Note in New York City on February 28, 2001. He is a brilliant and creative piano player and bandleader.

Eddie first began playing the piano at the age of eight, studying with Margaret Bonds and then with Carlos Savada, who's technique Eddie still uses to this day. Eddie worked with the Tito Rodriguez Orchestra before he formed his own band, "Conjunto La Perfecta," in 1961. The sound of La Perfecta is very exciting and highly original.
