When Victor Rendon -- percussionist, arranger, bandleader and educator -- came to the
LP® studio to record a tune for the 2005
holiday CD, he brought with him a virtual United Nations of talent. Victor is of Mexican descent,
Mario Rodriguez is from Paraguay, Henry Brun has Puerto Rican roots, Giancarlos is from Panama,
and both the keyboard player
and conguera are Japanese. When they played their song, they were totally united in Latin music
that was a treat to hear.
The band, Blue Mambo, consisted of Victor Rendon on
timbales,
Yasuyo on congas,
Henry Brun on bongos &
cowbell,
Giancarlos Anderson on misc
blocks,
percussion and bg vocals, Chiemi Nakai on piano, Mario Rodriguez on bass, Charles Alletto (composer) on
guitar, Judith Brun on shakers
and bg vocals, Jim Seely on trumpet and Peter Braining on sax.
