Nancy
Rodriguez of WBAI radio

On
Sunday, February 25, 2001, WBAI 99.5 FM, a noncommercial
radio station based in New York City, held a tribute
to Louie Ramirez. Born February 28, 1938, in New
York City, he was both an inspiration and a musical
legend. He played percussion, vibes, and piano;
he was also a band leader and a record producer.
Louie was responsible in the 1980s for "Salsa
Romantica."
The
tribute was produced by Nancy Rodriguez and Dred-Scott
Keye for Rodriguez's show, "Ritmo con Ache" ("Rhythm
with Strength"). It included a jam session produced
by Nancy Rodriguez and Jose Mangual, Jr.
The
